How Do You Measure a Year?

Dear Walker,
You turned one year old just a couple of weeks ago. You had a great party attended by lots of family and friends. Mommy and Daddy even got you your very own moonbounce and obstacle course for the party! Your theme was TOADily fun and there were lots of frogs items. We had the party at our home and you fell asleep just as everyone got here and the party started. Mommy had to wake you up to do presents and you were grumpy but your eyes lit up when you saw your presents. You got lots of goodies including a dump truck, blocks, a couch, a growth chart, and a Power Wheels. You rode your power wheels outside when everyone was gone until it became too cold. You are such a daredevil! You now stand on the seat when you ride it and it is only a matter of time before you are driving the Power Wheels on your own.

This year has flown by. I feel like it was just yesterday that we welcomed you into the world and our lives changed forever. You are the most amazing little boy and we love you more than we could ever love anyone. These past twelve months have been full of smiles, tears, lessons learned (and hopefully taught), hugs, kisses, and the best memories. You are growing faster than we want and you are becoming your own person. I can see your little personality turning into a BIG personality. You know what you want and you are demonstrating your independence.

I know that this next year will probably fly by even faster than this last one so I want to make a few promises to you. First of all, I promise to cherish every second you are awake. I promise to read to you daily. I promise to hug you at least 10 times a day and kiss you even more. I promise to tell you how much I love you until you are tired of hearing it. I promise to teach you to be polite. I promise to teach you to be honest. I promise to have fun together and to make you laugh as often as I can. I promise not to freak out if the house is a mess. I promise to protect you. I promise to give you all that I can and to make sure you know just how special you are because you are a special young man.

I love you, I love you, I love you. I could never tell you that enough.

-You are clapping
-You are waving bye bye
-You are feeding yourself
-You are drinking out of a cup
-You are sleeping through the night
-You are giving kisses
-You are giving high fives
-You are opening and closing every cabinet
-You love to read books
-You love to pull all the dvd's out

More Sneak Peeks into W's Birthday

Walker's invitations have been mailed and I can now share one here.

I have been trying very hard to keep W's birthday pictures top secret since they will be on display at his party but I just had to share one. Don't worry, I picked one that will not be on display! Despite Walker being in a rotten mood, he did enjoy the icing on his cake long enough for us to get a few good pictures.

Sneak Peek into W's First Birthday

Walker's first birthday is coming up on November 30! I cannot believe my little baby boy is going to be a year old. His party is going to be on Saturday, November 27th and we are super excited to get our friends and family together to celebrate Walker's first birthday. His birthday party theme is "TOADily fun" and I have been working very hard to plan a very special day for my little prince. His invitations should be here next week and I will post a picture of them after they have been mailed out. Enjoy a sneak peek at some of the things we have found for the party:

I found this precious frog at Ross the other day and it was too cute to pass up ($6.99 @ Ross). I imagine this little guy will find his way to the table where all the frog themed food will be:

I found these adorable Birthday plates at TJ Maxx. These will be put to good use at the party holding some of the froggy themed food. Found these at the Alabaster TJ Maxx for $7.99 - can't beat that price!

Hope you enjoyed your little sneak peek - can't give too much away just yet! : )

Britt's a Blogger!

I decided Facebook was getting a little crowded with my daily (ok, ok…hourly sometimes) status updates and photo uploads so I decided to start a blog to keep everyone updated on what is going on in The Wills Family! Chances are if you are reading my blog you probably already know at least a little something about me and my family but I figured I would begin my blog by telling a little about myself. So, for those of you who think you know everything about me you can skip this part ;) or if you just want to brush up on your Brittany trivia, read on…

The most important thing I can tell you about myself is that I am a wife and a mother. I am twenty four years old and my hometown is Chelsea, AL although we currently live in Vincent, AL. I am blessed that I get to be a stay at home mom to the most amazing little boy, Christopher Walker Wills Jr. Walker was born on November 30, 2009 and is such a blessing to my life. I have always said that I was born to be a mom but now I know that I was born to be Walker’s mom. Chris and I love our little family and can’t wait to add on to it. We are enjoying every moment of this life together and cherishing the little things along the way.
